Mistaken Candy Identity?

With Halloween around the corner, I thought I'd share a question that has haunted me all my life: How did the 3Musketeers and MilkyWay candy bars get their names?
As you can see from their pictures, a 3Musketeers bar only has 2 components; the outside milk chocolate shell, and a cloudy, (one could say 'milky') whippy, chocolaty nougat center. While a Milkyway bar has 3 components; the outside milk chocolate shell, the chocolate nougat center, and a layer of caramel.
As it turns out (with a simple Google search), the Milkyway bar, introduced in 1923, was named because the concept was to put chocolate malted milk in a candy bar. The 3Musketeers bar, introduced in 1932, was named from the original design of the product, which was three pieces and three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.
So there you have it. The mystery of the candy bars has been solved. Have a Happy Halloween!

Well go figure - having come from the UK I was used to what is Milky Ways over here being Mars Bars over there, as well as Milky Ways over there being 3 Muskateers over here :)
