The last few trucks of dirt have been delivered and smoothed out.
As you will see, the driveway is now at its normal height. Currently,
the driveway is actually made up of clay that will be packed down
by future delivery vehicles. This will provide a solid platform
for the eventual concrete driveway.

After sitting for nearly 2 weeks, the framers returned to put on
the finishing touches and fix those areas needing modification.
Some of the areas modified were the two fireplaces and chimneys
and the bedroom and bathroom above the garage. Another big milestone
was the installation of the basement windows. The stairwell was
finally completed as well and we can now go upstairs without the
use of a ladder. After the weekend, the plumbers began their work
while the framers finished up details in the dining room and master
bedroom. On Tuesday, the framers completed the railing details.
04/10/04 - Picture Update

With the extended period of dry weather, the dirt around the house
has hardened up enough to venture to the back of the house. You
can see that the basement still needs work as well as some of the
bigger openings in the greatroom. One you can't see yet from the
back is in the breakfast room waiting to be cut out. Due to the
size and shape of the windows we wanted for these rooms, the openings
needed to be measured and windows custom sized. We hope to have
them installed soon.

The windows have arrived and most of the front one have been installed.
You can see from the pictures that the rest of the windows are inside.
The doors have been delivered as well.
You'll also notice this section has gotten smaller. I've moved comments
from other months to their own page. The links to the other pages
are in the blue header above.
04/05/04 - Picture Update

ROOF COMPLETE! With a day of good
weather, the roof has been finished. Some interior cleanup work
has started as well to prepare for the windows. Once the house is
"sealed" the inside trades can begin. We're told plumbing first,
followed by electrical.

Few more today showing some more plywood covering going up and our
entrance way and chimney. Windows go in next week.

Just a small update today, probably due to the lovely Cleveland
rain turning to snow.
