Picture Update (8)
Today we had the good fortune of fog only, so the framing crew was
able to get more of the roof done today. If you look closely, you
may just spot one of them. One guy did try to hide when he
saw me with a camera. Looks like some of the roofing felt is also
going up as well in preparation for shingles. It doesn't go
all the way down the roof because the rest will be covered with
a sheet of ice guard material. Sometime this week I'm going to try
to climb up to the second floor to get a better look.

Despite all the rain, I was able to snap 5 new shots of the house.
The roof is starting to go up and hopefully will be completed soon
so the weather will no longer be a factor.

Due to the rain, this update only has 4 new pictures, but it looks
like the weather affected the workers as well. Only a small section
of roof has been started, and with the continuing rain, I'm not
sure how much work will be done tomorrow either.

Work on the second floor has started and should be done today or
tomorrow. The turret work is finished and came out exactly as we
expected. At this rate, the roof should be on by the weekend!

Well the first floor is done, minus some minor detail work. Second
floor lumber should be delivered soon.

FRAMING HAS BEGUN! It's only been
two days and already much of the first floor framing is complete.
All of the turret has been finished as well as its rounded accents.
The tall walls are the 2-story areas that have no second floor above
them. A few more walls need to be hoisted but its all starting to
take shape. I did find one minor mistake...the left window in the
bay off the master bedroom should be a door. Nothing a saw can't
fix! Some additional bulldozing was taking place as well to help
level off the driveway. A few more loads and it will eventually
be at the proper level.

Took a quick drive by the lot today to see if any more dirt had
been delivered and to my surprise, the first load of lumber was
there instead. Everything is covered in snow, but once that melts,
the carpenters will begin framing the first floor walls.

The garage wall has been fixed and there was a large delivery of
dirt and clay. Much of the dirt has been bulldozed on the right
and left sides. With the driveway starting to take shape, I was
able to walk up and onto the first floor. Much of the floor is laid,
and the rest will be completed soon. More dirt will be needed to
level the ground before framing can start.
Enjoy your visit!
